Concordia debuts Summit Point

First step in Fayetteville Southside master plan

With the Nov. 12 groundbreaking of Summit Point, the first phase of Concordia Properties’ contribution to the Fayetteville Southside Master Plan is underway.

Situated at the northeast corner of Ga. highway 85 and 92, Summit Point has a prime location within Fayetteville and just north of a growing Peachtree City. When complete, the 53-acre site will feature approximately 116,000 square feet of retail space, 20,000 square feet of office space and 50 single-family lots.

The project’s first phase will be marked by the fall 2004 completion of a shopping center anchored by Publix Supermarket, along with over 60,000 square feet of retail shopping and seven outparcel lots. The architecture of the plaza merges aesthetics with functionality, resulting in a quaint, intimate village setting. A reminder of days past, Summit Point combines all components of life into one unique space.

Living, working and shopping are all possible within this historic village development. The environmentally friendly plan causes cutting edge stormwater design and provides a 10-acre conservation area equipped with walking and biking paths that protects Perry Creek.

“At Summit Point, urban amenities are combined with rural tranquility for the best of both worlds,” said Kent Rose, president of Concordia Properties. “Summit Point will meet the challenges of modern-day hectic life while maintaining a hometown feel.”

The residential area, Phase Two of the project, will have lots available by the end of next year. Homes will consist of several traditional architectural designs.

All designs are well-suited for families and provide a number of amenities. The residential area includes a playground for children and is easily accessible to the walking and biking trails of the conservation area. Existing topography and trees will be preserved whenever possible. As an added layer of convenience, sidewalks will connect homes to the shopping center.

Phase Three of Summit Point, the office phase, is set to be complete in five years. This space will consist of three different buildings, ranging from 5,000 to 7,000 square feet. Responsible for Fayetteville’s successful Uptown Square, which is anchored by both Barnes and Noble and Linens ‘N Things, Concordia Properties has a proven track record for creating environments that set the standard for quality.

Concordia Properties was started in 1985 by Kent Rose, who was later joined by Richard Dippolito in 2000. Since then, Concordia has developed over 4 million square feet of retail shopping space, including grocery-anchored centers and big box shopping centers in the southeast. Some recent developments for Concordia are The Shops at Shawnee Ridge in Suwanee and The Village at Park Bridge in Alpharetta. Concordia Properties owns, develops and manages all of its properties to ensure the highest level shopping experience.
