Wieland neighborhoods take numerous awards

John Wieland Homes & Neighborhoods was the proud recipient of 18 awards, 8 gold and 10 silver, at the 23rd Annual Professionalism Awards last month.

The Professionalism Awards are presented each year for excellence in the areas of Architecture, Merchandising, Marketing, Community Service and Remodeling. With the addition of these 18 Professionalism Awards, John Wieland Homes and Neighborhoods has won more than 500 awards companywide.

Although JWH&N won awards in a broad range of categories, several of its winnings are notably in Fayette County. Centennial, in Peachtree City, was awarded two Silver Awards. The first was for Best Sales Center and the second for Best Merchandising in its Oxford designer model home.

The Oxford model was designed with the active family with children in mind. It is casual and comfortable with colorful accents and family-friendly distressed and painted wood finishes. It is also functionally elegant with a variety of custom built-ins and offers cozy spaces for every member of the family.

Outstandingly, Southampton, located in Tyrone, won a Silver Award for Best Amenities among all new neighborhoods in Atlanta. Set back from a main thoroughfare within distinctive entrance gates, Southampton dedicates over 12 acres to the homeowners and boasts a total amenity package to fit the lifestyle needs of the 351 families who will live there.

With a classic southern design, the two-story clubhouse provides 11,600 square feet of space including a marble foyer which opens to a large meeting room designed for both formal parties or intimate gatherings, loft bar and game tables, full-service kitchen, downstairs activity/media room, lounge with locker room and fitness center. Decks overlook the six-lane swimming pool with triple loop open body 175-foot waterslide.

To the left of the clubhouse, landscaped terraces provide views of the four-court Racquet Club and just across the street neighbors enjoy the three-acre park. In addition, the sidewalk neighborhood has a children’s playground and walking trails.

Founded by John Wieland in 1970, John Wieland Homes & Neighborhoods is currently building in 25 neighborhoods throughout Atlanta, with 1608 closings and revenues of $606 million in 2003.
