Worker hit by getaway car at Fville Pavilion By JOHN MUNFORD An Atlanta woman tried to run over a store employee who followed her to the parking lot after she tried to pass a bogus check recently at the Rack Room Shoes at the Fayette Pavilion, police said. Fayetteville police officers later found out that Jessica Turner, 21, had shopped with the phony checks earlier in the day at the Target, Wal-Mart and Old Navy stores at the Pavilion, according to police reports. An accomplice with Turner was arrested by an officer while Turner fled the vehicle moments after the confrontation, said the departments spokesman, Lt. Beverly Trainor. Turner later turned herself in, Trainor added. The employee was not seriously injured, police said. Turner was charged with four felony counts of forgery in the first degree and one felony count of aggravated assault. The accomplice, identified by police as Antonio Walker, 24, of Manchester, was arrested for being party to the crime of forgery. More charges may be forthcoming in the case, Trainor said. Officers confiscated a drivers license from Turner bearing a different signature from hers, Trainor added. Officers also found a bunch of checks that were altered in the vehicle Turner was driving, Trainor added. According to warrants for her arrest, Turner altered the checks she used in the stores by removing the account numbers.
