Chamber Christmas party is Thursday The South Fulton Chamber of Commerces annual Christmas Party will feature a holiday barbecue dinner at Mannys Texas Style Bar-Be-Cue in Union City December 11.ÊThe festivities begin at 6 p.m. at Mannys spacious restaurant at 6701 Roosevelt Highway in Union City. Mannys owner, Manny Courett, had wanted to do something for children and I wanted to use my membership in the Chamber as the vehicle.ÊAfter I met with fellow Chamber member Don Gammill of Steve Rayman Chrysler-Jeep, SuBrena Foster and John Boothby of the Chamber, we hatched an idea to help give a nice Christmas for some area children , host a Chamber of Commerce networking function and celebrate our 4-year anniversary at the same time, said Mr. Courett. Manny then graciously offered to host and sponsor the celebration and give the proceeds to the Helping Hands Holiday Dinner for local children who might not otherwise have a Christmas celebration.ÊHelping Hands is in its 14th year, founded by Drs. Louis and Lori Okun of Family Chiropractic in Union City. In years past, attendees of the Chambers annual Christmas party were asked to bring toys to donate to Helping Hands.ÊThis year, the Chamber is inviting everyone, members and community residents alike, to make a $10 donation. Manny has offered to give $800 from the proceeds directly to Helping Hands. Manny really stepped up to the plate and is giving back to our children in a meaningful way this Christmas, said Bill Davenport, the 2003 Chairman of the South Fulton Chamber.ÊI want to encourage everyone to join us on Thursday, Dec. 11, for a great barbecue dinner with all the fixins and to feel really good about helping to put smiles on the faces of children this Christmas. Dr. Louis Okun added, Each year the need seems to grow larger and larger and having the generous gift of money donated to Helping Hands will help greatly in making ends meet. Plan to join friends, neighbors and fellow members at the South Fulton Chambers Christmas Party and After Hours on December 11.ÊCall Patsy Dodgen at the Chamber at 770-964-1984 to make your reservations today
