A former employee of the Subway at the Peachtree Crossings shopping center in Peachtree City used a key to enter the establishment after hours and escape with cash from the store’s safe last week, police said.

Krystal Zier, 19, of Peachtree City is charged with three counts of burglary, police said. Police are still unsure exactly how much money was stolen from the store, said Police Chief James Murray.

Warrants also have been issued for several adults and juveniles who participated in the burglaries also, Murray said.

The group apparently talked about committing the burglaries when they met at a party the night before, Murray said. After first entering the Peachtree Crossings store, the group used the same key to enter the Subway at the Kedron Village shopping center, but they were unable to open the safe at that location, Murray said.

The group also returned to the Peachtree Crossings store a second time to get a roll of coins that was left behind the first time, the chief added.
