Police: Career criminals popping up more often in PTC

A traffic stop late Monday night led Peachtree City police to an armed man with a long criminal history, according to reports.

And police are saying such encounters are becoming more common.

Lennie Moore, 30, of Union City was arrested for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana (less than one ounce) and driving an unregistered vehicle. Officers found he had a .380 caliber pistol during the investigation, police said.

Police later found out that Moore is a convicted felon from Baltimore, Md., with a criminal history that includes multiple residential burglaries, thefts, breaking and entering, weapons charges and drug charges, police said.

Police also ran across an Atlanta man earlier this month who had an extensive criminal history. Officers responded to the Kedron Kroger on a shoplifting call and arrested Ronald Brown, 54, of Atlanta Nov. 4. He was charged with felony theft by shoplifting, disorderly conduct and obstruction of a police officer, police said.

Officers later learned that Brown had an extensive criminal history dating bak to the mid-1970s including larceny, shoplifting and receiving stolen property, police said.
