Marchese picked for exec. board

Coweta County Assessor Mike Marchese has been elected to the Georgia Association of Assessing Officials Executive Board from the North District.

Marchese’s election was announced Nov. 17 during the GAAO's 56th Annual Short Course in Georgia Assessment Administration Meeting at the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education in Athens. He began work with the Coweta County Assessor’s office in 1985.

He has served in the capacity of residential appraiser, senior residential appraiser, and chief real property appraiser. He achieved his Appraiser IV in 1989 and was appointed to the Coweta County Board of Assessors in 1993.

An active member of GAAO since the late 1980s, Marchese has served in a number of capacities including Membership and Promotions Committee Chairman; Commercial Property Committee Chairman; Rules and Bylaws Committee Co-Chairman and Policy Statement Committee member.

The GAAO Executive Board sets policy and guidelines and deals with legislative issues.

Marchese will serve a two-year term and is replacing Dawn Pruett of Dawsonville, who is becoming vice president of the association.
