How to help others during the holidays

There are several organization in Fayette County who could use your help during the holidays.

The Fayette Samaritans are in need of winter jackets and coats, both for children and adults. They are located at 126 Hickory Avenue, at New Hope Road. The hours are 9 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday. The phone number is 770-719-2707.

The Fayette County Department of Family and Children’s Services is in need of grocery gift cards from supermarkets such as Kroger and Ingles. Located at 905 S. Highway 85, it is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Braelinn Community Services Inc., Braelinn Baptist Church, does not have any special needs for the coming week.

St. Vincent DePaul Society, Holy Trinity Catholic Church, could use hygiene products such as toothpaste, shampoo, etc., and cleaning products such as dish detergent. The church is located at 101 Walt Banks Road, and can be reached at 770-487-7672.
