Ceremony for slain officer is tomorrow Fulton Vice Chairman and District 7 Commissioner William “Bill” Edwards, and the Fulton County Department of Parks and Recreation, will host a dedication ceremony to name theWelcome All Park gym for slain Fulton police officer Aaron Blount. The resolution brought by Commissioner Edwards to dedicate a gym for Blount was approved by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners onWednesday, November 5, 2003. The ceremony for the Aaron J. Blount Memorial Gymnasium is 10 a.m.,Saturday, at Welcome All Park,4255 Will Lee Road,College Park. Blount, who grew up in the area, was a volunteer athletic coach and youth mentor at the South Fulton Community Center at Welcome All Park. Blount was killed in the line of duty on April 22, 2003.
