Though the search for a new airport manager at Falcon Field began late, it appears that they are doing everything they can to have someone in place by the beginning of 2004.

At Wednesday night’s meeting of the Peachtree City Airport Authority, the criteria of what they were looking for in an airport manager was approved, as was the ad seeking a new manager. The airport authority will be accepting resumes and applications until Dec. 6, 2003.

The Airport Authority is seeking a person who has experience in airport management and will be responsible for five primary areas: airport operations, development and maintenance; airport budgets, programs and finances; community outreach; airport marketing and business development; and management of the FBO operation. The position reports to the Peachtree City Airport Authority.

Applicants must be accredited or certified though the American Association of Airport Executives as either a certified member or an accredited airport executive. The applicant must also have experience in aviation, public administration, public speaking and team building and management.

Cover letters and resumes can be sent to Vern Darley/Search Committee Peachtree City/Falcon Field, P.O. Box 2526, Peachtree City, Ga. 30269 or via e-mail to kffcairportmanager@mindspring.com. Applicants can also drop off cover letters and resumes at Falcon Field.
