Wednesday, November 12, 2003 Villages' preferred lenders named Four mortgage companies with offices in Fayette County have agreed to become preferred lending partners and marketing partners for The Villages of Lafayette Park, the multiuse community in downtown Fayetteville. The list includes Market Street Mortgage (Dennis Dingler Jr.); Fairfield Mortgage (Mark King); Chase Manhattan Mortgage (Todd Allen); and BancMortgage (Liz Taylor). "This is an exciting and significant event for us," said Bob Dixon of Dixon Development, one of the developers of the community. "This will be extremely helpful for us in our marketing efforts, and it will provide additional loan options for our future homebuyers." Thus far, The Villages has recorded six closings on homes, three of them single family residences and the other three townhouses. One other single family home and three other townhouses are under contract. The award-winning Villages of Lafayette Park community is an approximately 110-acre development three blocks west of the Old Courthouse Square in Fayetteville and bordered by Ga. Highway 54 on the south and the Fayette County High School complex on the north. The development will ultimately have 151 single family detached homes featuring Turn of the Century styles with prices starting in the low $200,000s. The builder team for these homes includes Mike Harrell & Associates, Ravin Homes, and Ray Wright Homes. In addition to these Classic American Village and Cottage homes, there will also be 22 Estate homes on larger homesites. Also under construction are the first of 30 townhouses which are being built by Chris Dixon & Associates and priced from the low $200,000s. The sales and marketing team in The Villages of Lafayette Park is composed of Ann W. Roghelia and Jane Foster of Lee-Dixon Realty, DeSales and Roch deGolian of Ravin Homes, and Marcia Bolton and Sheila Jordan of Re/Max Around Atlanta Allstars as the on-site agents. The sales center phone number is 770-461-7030. In addition to the residential units, the community will also contain several parks, a junior olympic pool, playground, and commercial and office space. Also located on the property is The Villages Amphitheater. This facility, which opened in Sept. 2002, is owned by the Downtown Development Authority and managed by Main Street Tourism Assoc. A multiuse venue representing all aspects of the cultural arts and educational community, it was designed to fit the architectural emphasis of Main Street with its brick accents and "turn of the century" lighting. The amphitheater is located on a three-acre tract at the intersection of LaFayette Avenue and Tiger Trail and shares the parking lot at Fayette County High School.
