Wieland marks 5th record-breaking year in a row

Atlanta-based John Wieland Homes and Neighborhoods marked the end of another record-breaking fiscal year in September with gross revenues of $606 million and 1,608 homes closed in 2003.

The company has broken its annual revenues record for the past five years consecutively, with $538 million and 1,395 homes closed in 2002.

Founded in 1970 by John Wieland, the company is currently building in 51 neighborhoods in the Southeast with operations in Atlanta; Charlotte and Raleigh, N.C.; Charleston, S.C.; and Nashville, Tenn.

Other milestones for the year include Terry Russell's appointment to chief executive officer and the company's dynamic business move to separate its homebuilding business from its support companies.
