Deputy arrests man at school for drug possession

A Riverdale man was arrested for possession of drugs on school property at Our Lady of Mercy in north Fayette Friday evening.

Kelvin Demorris Turner, 19, was arrested after a Fayette County sheriff’s deputy found a white powdery substance suspected to be methamphetamine and four capsules in his front left pants pocket, according to a warrant filed for his arrest.

The charge is a felony; Magistrate Robert A. Ruppenthal set a $7,500 bond in the case.
