Whitewater High, Fayette County High orchestras to combine in concert By MICHAEL BOYLAN Fans of classical music will get a special treat next Monday when both the Fayette County High School and Whitewater High School orchestras present a free concert at 7:30 p.m. at Sams Auditorium. Fayette Countys advanced orchestra will perform Mozarts Eine Kleine Nacht Musik and Corellis Concerto Grosso, while the intermediate orchestra will perform the overture of The Barber of Seville, Mozarts Lucio Silla and the Brandenburg Concerto #3. Whitewaters orchestra will perform the Carnival of the Animals and the theme to Masterpiece Theatre. The orchestra will then combine and perform the 1812 Overture. Conductor Darilyn Esterline also said there will be a few more surprises. Esterline also stated that combining the orchestras has been very interesting. It has been a little challenging because they dont have daily rehearsals together, but it has been a good experience as the student get to see people with different talent and patience levels. After next Mondays concert, the schools will begin to practice Christmas music.
