One of three suspects accused of robbing a Fayetteville family at gunpoint last November is finally in the Fayette County Jail.

But it’s not because police hadn’t been able to find the suspect. He has been locked up in Clayton County on other criminal charges, according to Lt. Beverly Trainor of the Fayetteville Police Department.

Oladiran Olufemi Soleye, 18, of Jonesboro, is charged with being a party to the crime of armed robbery and a party to the crime of aggravated assault. His alleged conspirators, Abayomi Cornellius Powers and Warren Antoine Legrand, are still in the Clayton County lockup and Fayetteville investigators have place a hold on them once their case is disposed of, Trainor said.

The trio got away with $100 in cash after holding up a family that had just returned home on Paces Court Nov. 29 of last year, Trainor said. One of the men had a handgun and wore a bandanna to partially cover his face and another of the suspects had a rifle and ordered the family members to the ground, Trainor added.

The three suspects were arrested six days later by Clayton police who pulled over a van matching the description of the one used by the three during the Paces Court robbery, Trainor said. Officers found several stolen weapons and other evidence inside the van, Trainor said.

The three suspects admitted to participating in armed robberies in Clayton County, Fayette County and Union City.
