Words of wisdom help students make wise choices

Students at Fayetteville Intermediate are getting a few words of wisdom from some notable people in the community.
At the beginning of the academic year the school implemented a national program called Project Wisdom where each morning students hear a message about civic and personal values and how they can apply those values in their daily lives.
People the students are familiar with, such as their parents, teachers, board of education personnel and the school’s business partners, read the pre-recorded messages that are aired daily during the morning announcements on Cougar Television (CTV), the school’s closed circuit broadcast.
The one-minute messages introduce students to the ideas of being more responsible, respectful and caring for other people. Each message reflects the words of well-known people and those who have striven to overcome obstacles.
Project Wisdom encourages students to think about the choices they make and the consequences of those choices. Each message ends with some food for thought, “Make it a great day — or not. The choice is yours.”
The school will continue to broadcast the messages daily throughout the school year.
