AADD To Host
Workshop
The Atlanta Alliance on Developmental
Disabilities will host a workshop entitled A Journey Through the
System Monday from 7-9 p.m. at the LaFayette Educational Center,
Building A. The workshop is open to parents and guardians of school age
children and adults with developmental disabilities in Fayette, Clayton
and Henry counties. The LaFayette Educational Center is located at 205
LaFayette Avenue in Fayetteville.
The workshop format will be a panel discussion on special education, Medicaid,
early intervention and adult services. Representatives from the following
agencies will be on hand to answer questions: Department of Human Resources
MHDDAD (Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Addictive
Diseases) Regional Office; Community Service Board; Babies Cant
Wait; Fayette, Clayton and Henry County Schools; Rehabilitation Services;
Department of Educations parent mentor; Department of Medical Assistance
and Department of Family and Children Services.
The event is being sponsored by the Atlanta Alliance on Developmental
Disabilities, the Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta and the Metro South
and West Georgia Learning Resources Systems.
