Local publisher promotes breast cancer awareness and prevention

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month, and a Peachtree City publisher is doing its part to provide life-saving knowledge about the disease.
FC&A Publishing’s recently released book, “Unleash the Inner Healing Power of Foods,” explores the role of food in disease prevention, devoting an entire chapter to breast cancer.
The authors explain who gets breast cancer (it’s not just women), what symptoms to watch for, and how specific foods can help prevent the disease. Although packed with useful information, the 380-page volume is written in friendly, simple language.
Research for the book comes from recent studies published in respected medical and scientific journals, and from interviews with leading experts. In the chapter on breast cancer, for example, the authors report breakthroughs by scientists at Berkeley, Johns Hopkins, Penn State, the University of Minnesota, and more.
Rounding out the chapter is practical advice on food choices from a registered dietitian who is also the director of nutrition education at the American Institute for Cancer Research.
FC&A is a direct-mail publishing company that has been in business since 1969. The company is widely recognized as a leading publisher of self-help health books. One of its best-selling health books, “Eat and Heal,” has sold over half a million copies in just two years. The company has expanded its product line in recent years to include consumer books such as “Uncommon Uses for Common Household Products” and “Easy Computing for Seniors.”
“Unleash the Inner Healing Power of Foods” can be ordered from FC&A’s Web site at www.fca.com, or by calling 1-800-226-8024.
