Fayette student to perform with GC&SU Jazz Combo

Tim Pietrofere of Fayetteville will perform with the Georgia College & State University Jazz Combo in “Cabaret, Broadway, and Beyond: an Evening of Treasured Vocal Jazz Standards,” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 28 in Max Noah Recital, Porter Hall at GC&SU. He plays the trumpet with the combo.
Pietrofere, a senior music education major, is the son of Gail and Mark Pietrofere of Fayetteville. He graduated from Fayette County High School, where he was in marching band, wind ensemble, concert band and symphonic band.
At GC&SU he is also in concert band, jazz band, pep band and the Bobcat Brass Quintet and is involved in Collegiate Music Educators National Conference as well.
The GC&SU Jazz Combo concert will contain a wide array of musical numbers including “My Funny Valentine” by Rogers & Hart, “Autumn Leaves” by Georgia's own Johnny Mercer, “All the Things You Are” by Oscar Hammerstein,“The Days of Wine and Roses” by Henry Mancini, and “Speak Low” and “September Song” by Kurt Weill.
Georgia College & State University, located in Milledgeville, is Georgia’s public liberal arts university.
