Lake cleanup

The West Point Lake Coalition will have its second annual lake cleanup Saturday, Oct. 18, from 8:30 am.-1:30 p.m.

Due to the spring floods, the need to clean up the shoreline of West Point Lake is greater than ever. Cleanup organizers estimate that hundreds of volunteers are needed this year, to insure that everyone enjoys the 2004 boating and fishing season.

Lunch will be provided by Wendy’s and will be served at Horace King Park at 1 p.m. There will be prizes awarded to the winning clean up team, a prize for most unusual item found and a drawing for various attendance prizes.

To volunteer yourself, your family or your service club or organization, phone Dick Timmerberg, executive director, West Point Lake Coalition at 706-884-5916.
