Fashion show, auction to benefit victims of domestic violence

A fashion show, luncheon and silent auction will be held Saturday, Oct. 25, to benefit the Fayette County Council on Domestic Violence.

The show will include fashions modeled from Chico’s, Joseph A. Bank, Mud Pies, Liz Claiborne shoes from The Avenue at Peachtree City and Top Drawer Boutique of Fayetteville. Tickets may be purchased at any of these stores for $30 each.

The event will be held at the Wyndham Peachtree Executive Conference Center in Peachtree City.

The council helps victims with crisis counseling, a weekly support group with free child care, a 24-hour emergency pager system and a teen dating violence program. The council also operates a transitional housing program to help victims and their families work towards independence from the abuser.

The council receives no state or federal funds; it is entirely supported by donations from Fayetteville, Peachtree City, local churches and other organizations. The council depends on funds from the fashion show/silent auction and a devoted set of volunteers to keep operating.

For more information, contact the council at 770-460-1604.
