Senoia’s long-standing moratorium on new development will end before the calendar turns to 2004.

The City Council unanimously voted to end the ban Dec. 1. For the last few months, the council has been working on a variety of issues in anticipation of lifting the halt to development.

“We’ve reworked our zoning rules, and will have our impact fees ordinance in place by then,” said Mayor Dianne Cleveland.

In other business, the City Council:

ä Approved the city’s millage rate at 6.01 mills. The rate dropped slightly from last year’s 6.08 mills, so residents should see no increase in their property tax bills.

ä Announced that flu shots would be available at City Hall Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to noon.

“The shots are $15 and I think they’re free if you have Medicare,” said Cleveland.
