Wednesday, October 8, 2003 River Forest releases 70 more lots Ninety-six lots already sold in Monroe Co. community; first homes now under construction A combination of natural beauty, rolling terrain, and future plans for top golf and equestrian facilities are pulling homebuyers south to River Forest, located just a mile from I-75 between Atlanta and Macon. The new master-planned community has already sold 96 lots and construction has begun on 15 homes. Developer David Aldridge is now poised to release 70 more lots, many with river and creek frontage. Some of the new lots also border the planned 18-hole Rocky Roquemore golf course and the 70-acre equestrian center. River Forest is a 925-acre development located 20 minutes south of McDonough which will offer 300 acres of greenspace with three parks, one of which features 1,000 feet of river frontage. The community will include 350 estate lots set back from wooded, winding roads. The Monroe County community will also feature equestrian facilities, riding trails and the 18-hole Roquemore layout. People want to live where they can quickly 'escape' with golf, tennis, horseback riding, walking or other exercise, said Aldridge. River Forest is close enough to Macon and Atlanta for a permanent home but it's ideally situated for a weekend or summer home. Our visitors are overwhelmed by the beauty of the terrain. Theres nothing in the area that compares with River Forest, he added, noting that many buyers are active adults and families who commute to jobs in metro Atlanta, Macon or other nearby communities. Aldridge also announced that River Forest will host a golf and equestrian fund raiser in July of 2004. Were pleased that our first charity golf tournament and equestrian event will benefit Canine Assistants, said Aldridge. We expect some celebrity involvement, and we can't think of a better way to introduce our new facilities to metro Atlanta than this event. The golf course and its 15,000 square-foot clubhouse will open in early summer of 2004, while the equestrian center, tennis courts and pool house will open May 1. The 2,000-square-foot pool house will include a tennis shop and state of the art exercise center that will include treadmills, free weights, and exercise machines. River Forest, with its expansive greenspace areas and river frontage, will blend well with the largely rural environment of Monroe County. The county is approximately 45 miles south of Atlanta and 25 miles north of Macon in central Georgia. Residents benefit from low taxes and easy access to Atlanta, Macon, Hartsfield International Airport, and the I-75 corridor. River Forest is being developed by River Forest, Inc., an Atlanta-based company with a local office on Johnstonville Road.
