Youth Leadership Fayette Class accepting applications
The Fayette County Chamber of Commerce Fayette is now accepting applications for the 2004 Youth Leadership Fayette Class. Applications will be accepted until Nov. 3 and the 2004 Youth Leadership Fayette Class will run from Jan. 22 through March 16. The successful Youth Leadership Class, now in its fourth year, is organized by the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, Board of Education and Fayette County Development Authority. This class is designed to identify, encourage and develop our community's best and brightest emerging youth leaders in grades 11 and 12. Thirty students are selected annually to participate in this prestigious class designed to give students an opportunity to examine and explore their potential role as our community's future leaders. The Youth Leadership Fayette Class is offered at no cost to the participants. Each year Youth Leadership candidates participate in a comprehensive ten week program designed to enhance awareness of government and private industry operations, planning and development practices, whole understanding, and developing individual leadership and team building skills. The program is designed to further prepare students for post college opportunities and encourage further leadership participation in our community. Applications are available through local area high school guidance counselors, the Board of Education and the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce. All applications must be received at the Chamber office by 4 p.m. Nov. 3 for consideration. Applications may be mailed to 200 Courthouse Square, Fayetteville, GA 30214 or delivered in person to the Chamber at the old courthouse building in Fayetteville.
