Hospital consolidating operations

The Newnan Hospital Board of Directors has announced its decision to consolidate all patient care services into the Newnan Hospital West Campus. The board's decision is supported by hospital management and recommendations of consultants who recently assisted in the completion of a strategic planning process.

All inpatient care and services are scheduled to transition to the WestCampus by the end of November.

"This consolidation of all patient care services to the West Campus is the most cost-effective and logical method of providing healthcare services to the community. Currently neither campus is operating at full capacity and the unnecessary duplication of services is costly and inefficient," said John Gray, president of the Newnan Hospital Board of Directors. "Our goal is to have a state-of-the-art facility and the consolidation process will be conducted with a vision of a new hospital."

"The West Campus will undergo renovations and some expansion as part of the consolidation process," said Glenn M. Flake, CEO of Newnan Hospital.

"This is a new chapter in healthcare for Coweta County and the surrounding areas," Flake continued. "As part of this new era, we will be launching a new logo and marketing campaign. We've got a great story to tell compassionate and qualified employees united towards the goal of providing superior, comprehensive healthcare services, right here in Coweta County.

"This consolidation renews our commitment to the healthcare needs of our community and our patients will remain our top priority as we complete this important process."

Newnan Hospital acquired the assets of Emory Peachtree Regional Hospital in January. The Hospital Road facility subsequently became the Newnan Hospital West Campus.
