The Fairburn City Council votedunanimously last week to adopt a resolution to enforce codes along major corridors between incorporated and unincorporated Fulton County. The Fulton County Board of Commissioners created the resolution in hopes of preserving the quality of life in Fulton County and retain property values.

City Administrator Jim Williams was authorized to establish a pilot project to develop policies and procedures of code enforcement.

In addition, a final plat was approved for The Magnolias subdivision just north of Duncan Park on Rivertown Road. Three lots were reconfigured to better suit the homes to be built on them. Separated into two lots with a green space between them the council unanimously passed the plans. After clarifying the request Councilman Glenn Higgins said he "wanted to make sure we aren't passing something that is a liability to the city."

A short discussion of the city's millage rate ended with a recommendation to not increase it from 6 mills. The city is expected to adopt a final budget by the end of September.
