Wedding Announcements

Hancock-Stephens

Mr. and Mrs. Vick Hancock of Peachtree City announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Alison Elizabeth, to Joel Brian Stephens, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joel V. Stephens of Tyrone.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. H.H. McKinley of Newnan, and Mrs. Pauline Hancock and the late Elmo Hancock of Cairo. She is employed by Delta Air Lines as a flight attendant.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Hampton Harris of Villa Rica and the late Donald Driver of Bremen, and Mrs. Margie Stephens and the late Joel Stephens of Baton Rouge, La. He is employed by Delta Air Lines as an aircraft mechanic.
The wedding will be in October, 2003, at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City.

Holcomb-Martin

Phillip Holcomb of Buford and Ms. Terri Skinner of Cornelia announce the engagement of their daughter, Ivy Tess Holcomb, to Neal Henry Martin, son of Glenn Martin of Peachtree City and Mrs. Janet Banks of Fayetteville.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maxie Skinner of Demorest and J.D. Holcomb of Cornelia. She is a graduate of Habersham Central High School and an August 2002 graduate of Georgia Tech where she received a degree in industrial engineering. She plans to work with Milliken in Jonesville, S.C.
The groom-elect is a graduate of Fayette County High School and a May 2003 graduate of Georgia Tech where he received a degree in polymer and fiber engineering. He is employed with Milliken in Blacksburg, S.C.
Following the wedding on Sept. 27, 2003, in Cornelia, the couple will reside in Spartanburg, S.C.

Lang-Gebel

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Gregory Lang of Thomasville announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Michele, of Atlanta, to Michael Walter Gebel Jr., of Atlanta, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Walter Gebel Sr. of Peachtree City.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Buxton Mitchell of Pensacola, Fla., and the late Mr. and Mrs. O.B. Knight of Graceville, Fla. She is a 1996 graduate of Thomasville High School, a 2000 graduate of the University of Georgia, and a 2002 graduate of Valdosta State University. She holds a master’s degree in speech-language pathology and currently is employed by Children’s Therapy Works in Roswell.
The groom-elect is the grandson of A.E. Gebel and the late Mrs. Rae Mays Gebel of Peachtree City, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Paul Ratcliff of Atlanta. He is a 1996 graduate of McIntosh High School and a 2000 graduate of the University of Georgia. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and currently is employed by News America Marketing in Atlanta.
The wedding will be Jan. 17, 2004, at 7 p.m., at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Thomasville.

Watts-Bolton

Margaret Amelia Watts, daughter of Thomas Watts and Rebecca Watts of Peachtree City, married Kenneth Wynne Bolton, son of Brian Bolton of Johnson City, Tenn., and the late Diane Bolton, on July 12, 2003, at The Atrium in Norcross. The outdoor ceremony was performed by Eric Forgoston, a fraternity brother of the groom.
The bride is a graduate of Georgia Tech where she presently attends graduate school, and is pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering. The groom is a chemical engineer with OFS (formerly Lucent).
The bride wore an ivory satin strapless two-piece gown with embroidery on the bodice and carried a bouquet of ivory porcelain roses with herbs and white sweet pea. The attendants wore sleeveless black brocade tops over black skirts and carried bouquets fashioned after an Elizabethan bouquet with lavender spray roses and herbs. Groomsmen wore black tuxes.
Attendants for the bride were Cindy Miller of Peachtree City, Megan Sumpter of Atlanta and Nicole Wassell of Peachtree City.
Groomsmen were Brian Althouse of Davidsonville, Md., Brian Betkowski of Atlanta, and Drew Bordas of Acworth.
Classical wedding music on cello and classical guitar was provided by the Adams Duo of Athens.
The rehearsal dinner was held at the Bangladeshi restaurant Panahar on Friday evening. The groom’s maternal aunts hosted a Sunday brunch for the wedding party and out of town guests at the Marriott in Norcross following the Saturday evening wedding.
The couple honeymooned in the Dominican Republic and currently reside in Norcross.
