Wieland buys a pig

John Wieland, famous for building homes in the Southeast, including numerous neighborhoods in Fayette County, has gone into the livestock business.

John Wieland Homes has purchased a pig sponsorship for the American Cancer Society's Cattle Barons Ball, set for Oct. 18 at the Kiwanis Exhibition Hall in Fayetteville. The Cattle Barons Ball is a major source of funding for the American Cancer Society. The proceeds from this event will contribute to the local programs of the American Cancer Society that are made available to our community free of charge as well as funding research and development.

Since 1970, John Wieland has been designing award-winning homes in beautiful neighborhoods across the Southeast. A strong commitment to customer satisfaction and total quality has earned the company more than 450 awards for excellence including the National Builder of the Year and National Housing Quality Award. The company is currently building five neighborhoods throughout Fayette County including: Southampton and River Oaks in Tyrone, Centennial and Governors Rowe in Peachtree City and Lakeside on Redwine in Fayetteville.

For Wieland's donation of $2,000, patrons at the Cattle Barons Ball will enjoy cheering on Homer, the company-sponsored pig. Guests at the live auction will indicate their willingness to bid by raising John Wieland sponsored auction paddles. To join John Wieland Homes and become an event sponsor, or to receive an invitation to the Cattle Barons Ball, contact Sheri Waynick of the American Cancer Society at 770-460-8920.
