Fall's dining options are heating up

Waking up in late September makes me almost giddy. The warm, moist air we've been used to for three months is starting to give way to cooler breezes.

People who have avoided going out for weeks because of the stifling humidity now seem to have a spring in their step.

Fall usually means new restaurant openings, and Fayetteville residents will be able to sample at least four new restaurants this autumn.

Bugaboo Creek Steakhouse opened last week just south of the Fayette Pavilion shopping center. According to the company's Web site, the chain operates 24 restaurants in the northeastern and southeastern U.S. and models itself after a Canadian ski resort. The eatery is known for its steaks.

Moe's Southwestern Grill is also slated to open later this fall, adjacent to Bugaboo Creek. This Tex-Mex chain prides itself on fresh ingredients and offers up some of the tastiest, and largest burritos in the area.

Ted's Montana Grill opens next month behind Bugaboo Creek. Fayette foodies are already familiar with Ted Turner's excellent bison burgers, because the chain already has an outpost in Peachtree City.

The Cozy Cafe, located in the old Tony's restaurant on Ga. Highway 85. Workers are busy painting the building and putting up new signs for the third restaurant incarnation in this space. Prior to Tony's, the restaurant served up Italian food and as called Milano's.

The new options are helping to enhance the reputation of Fayette as a dining destination on the Southside. Now, if we only had a dim sum place to head to on the weekends ...
