2 qualify for Fayetteville council seat; Steele and Brewer are unopposed

Fayetteville Mayor Ken Steele and Councilman Glenn Brewer will be running unopposed this November, with two others qualifying to run for the seat held by Councilman Bill Talley, who is declining to run for a second term.

Qualifying this week to run for Talley's seat were Paul Oddo, 52, an accountant and Wilson Price, 54, an employee of Delta Air Lines. Oddo lives on Redwine Road and Price lives on Hillsdale Drive.

No one else qualified to run against Steele or Brewer, virtually assuring them of reclaiming their seats unless a valid write-in candidate tries to make waves. The qualifying period began Monday and ended Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
