Wednesday, September 10, 2003 Homes selling at Villages The Villages at LaFayette Park multiuse community has experienced several recent home sales activity with one closing, four more set to close this month, and one more under contract. An award-winning development, The Villages at LaFayette Park community is an approximately 110-acre development three blocks west of the Old Courthouse Square in Fayetteville and bordered by State Hwy. 54 on the south and the Fayette County High School complex on the north. The development will have 151 single family detached homes featuring Turn of the Century styles with prices starting in the $200,000s, and three of the recorded sales were among these homes. The builder team is composed of established and well known local companies, including Mike Harrell & Associates, Ravin Homes, and Ray Wright Homes. In addition to these Classic American Village and Cottage homes, there will also be 22 Estate homes on larger homesites. The other three sales were in the section of 30 townhouses which are being built by Chris Dixon & Associates, another well known member of the local building community. These townhouses are priced from $189,000 to $230,000. The first two townhome buildings are priced to give the first 11 buyers a $5,000 incentive to purchase. The next seven-unit building will have a $5,000 increase in price, and the ensuing 12 units will be enlarged and the price will increase. The sales and marketing team in The Villages at LaFayette Park is composed of Ann W. With the builders closing on the remaining residential homesites, the swimming pool construction will begin with expected completion in spring of 2004. Also located on the property is The Villages Amphitheater. This facility, which opened late last September, is owned by the Downtown Development Authority and managed by Main Street Tourism Assoc. A multiuse venue representing all aspects of the cultural arts and educational community, it was designed to fit the architectural emphasis of Main Street with its brick accents and "Turn of the Century" lighting. The amphitheater is located on a three-acre tract at the intersection of LaFayette Avenue and Tiger Trail and shares the parking lot at Fayette County High School.
