PTC to hold Sept. 11 remembranceBy MICHAEL BOYLAN
There will be a brief ceremony next week in Peachtree City in honor of those killed Sept. 11, 2001, during the terrorist attacks in New York, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania. The event is set for next Thursday, the second anniversary of the attacks, at 8 a.m. near the VFW Memorial at City Hall Plaza in Peachtree City. The Peachtree City Police Department's honor guard will bring the flag to full-staff and lower it to half-staff, where it will remain for the rest of the day. In addition to the playing of the national anthem, The police department will join the fire department and will present a memorial wreath to remain at the VFW memorial and the fire department will conclude the service by performing a five-bell ceremony, signifying the last call for firefighters who have died in service. The public is invited to attend.
