First Baptist invites community to audition for Christmas musical

"His Kingdom Shall Never End" is a brand new praise and worship musical for the Christmas season that takes a fresh look at the biblical narratives of the nativity found in the Gospels of Matthew, Luke, and John, and Scripture found in Isaiah.

"The sounds of 'His Kingdom Shall Never End' are fresh and contemporary, but still include many of the traditional Christmas melodies we've grown to love," said Steve Hester, director of music and worship at Fayetteville First Baptist, which will stage the musical in December using an auditioned praise/performance team.

There is no age limit, and auditions are not limited to church members, Hester said. Anyone desiring to help celebrate the birth of Christ through exciting, high-energy song is encouraged to audition.

Auditions for the "His Kingdom Shall Never End" Ensemble/TEAM are Sept. 4, 6, and 7 from 7-9 p.m. at the church, 205 Stonewall Avenue East. Call the church office, 770-461-TRUE, to schedule your audition.

Robin Drewry, choral director at Whitewater Middle School and a member of the music staff at First Baptist, will direct "His Kingdom Shall Never End." Dana Pigford and Linda Bryan of the church's drama ministry will provide staging direction.

For more information, call Hester at 770-461-8378.
