Loco's Deli and Pub on agenda for Fville planning workshop

Plans to build a Loco's Deli and Pub on Ga. Highway 314 south of New Hope Road will be discussed Tuesday evening at a workshop meeting of the Fayetteville Planning and Zoning Commission.

Nearby residents who live in the county opposed the plan at the commission's previous meeting, largely based on concerns about the affect of alcohol sales near their homes.

City staff are recommending that additional plantings be made in a 50-foot buffer to protect the adjacent neighborhood. There are also several outstanding issues that must be addressed, staff indicated in a recent memo.

In other business, the commission will discuss:

Plans for the expansion of Fayette Community Hospital on Ga. Highway 54 West. The hospital is also seeking variances for a buffer and setback.

Plans for a Bruster's Ice Cream shop on Ga. Highway 314 north of T&G All Sports.

Rezoning the Hit&Run batting cage from industrial to commercial use.

An amendment to the zoning ordinance to address mini warehouses.
