Council approves Twin Lakes plat amid legal threat By JOHN THOMPSON
After months of study, debate and discussion, the Senoia City Council approved the preliminary plat for the first phase of the Twin Lakes subdivision. Monday night's conclusion to the debate was not without drama, though. After Twin Lakes attorney Litt Glover put the city on notice that a possible lawsuit was in the offing if the city didn't approve the plat, the City Council adjourned into executive session for more than 30 minutes. As the council adjourned into discussion, Mayor Dianne Cleveland quipped to the Twin lakes developers about Glover's legal discussion. "I told you to bring a shepherd's hook to get him off stage," she said. When the City Council reconvened, they added several more conditions for approval of the plat: The current developers could not develop another phase of the project. Funding of the water tank for the property would not be done through state agencies with the city backing any debt on the tower. An additional entrance would have to be made on the backside of the subdivision, so there would not be two entrances on Rockaway Road. The developers agreed to the new condition and secured their plat for 381 homes on Rockaway. No construction timeline was given for the project.
