Stalking plea nets 5 years in prison for Acworth manBy JOHN

An Acworth man was sentenced to five years in prison for stalking a Fayette woman last September in violation of a temporary protective order. Emaniel Mitchell, 34, of 4457 Lockett Terrace, Acworth, pled guilty to the charge Monday morning and was sentenced by Fayette County Superior Court Judge Johnnie L. Caldwell Jr. In exchange for the plea, prosecutors dropped a second count of aggravated stalking. A Peachtree City man also pled guilty Monday to theft by receiving a stolen golf cart in April 2002. David Stephen Mikell also pled guilty to altering the identity number of the vehicle, and he was sentenced to five years probation and a $1,500 fine. An Atlanta man also pled guilty Monday to one felony count of theft by taking. Bobby Charles Brownlee, 45, of 1298 Oak St., Atlanta, was sentenced to five years probation with credit for time served and a $1,000 fine.
