Numerous changes made to PTC meeting schedule

There have been a number of changes and cancellations to previously announced public meetings over the next week in Peachtree City.

A joint meeting between the City Council and the Development Authority of Peachtree City, arranged to consider options for eliminating the authority's long-term debt, was cancelled late Tuesday. It will be rescheduled at a later date, according to a memo from City Hall staff.

A public hearing on the FY'04 Peachtree City budget, originally set for Aug. 14, has been moved up a week to Thursday at 5 p.m. in the conference room at the library. This will be the second hearing on the proposed $27 million budget. The first, on July 24, drew little public comment.

The City Council meeting held the first Thursday of each month will go on next week at 7 p.m. in City Hall, immediately following the budget hearing, according to city staff. If the workshop needs more time, it will go into recess while councilmembers and staff move upstairs for the regular business meeting, then resume as soon as the council meeting is adjourned.

The Peachtree City Water and Sewerage Authority's meeting scheduled for Monday has been cancelled. The next regular scheduled meeting will take place Monday, Sept. 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the conference room at the Peachtree City Water and Sewerage Authority administrative office.
