Fville commission OK's annexation for two homes

Two homes on New Hope Road have received approval for annexation from the Fayetteville Planning and Zoning Commission.

The owners of both homes believed they were in the city limits and have been paying city taxes, officials said. But in reality the parcels do not appear on the city's maps since they are located in the county.

City officials could not locate any records indicating the properties had been annexed.

Although the commission approved the annexation requests, the matter must ultimately be approved by the City Council.

Both parcels of land combine for less than 2 acres in size. The home at 153 New Hope Road is owned by Elizabeth Landrum and is .84 acres. The home at 169 New Hope Road is on 1.01 acres and is owned by Jan Trammell.

Both properties will remain residentially zoned under the recommendation from city staff.
