Ingles supermarket to anchor shopping center in west Fayetteville By JOHN
MUNFORD Plans have been approved for a 19.77-acre shopping center on Ga. Highway 54 West near the Fayette Urgent Care in Fayetteville that will be anchored by an Ingles supermarket. In addition to the 65,000 sq. ft. Ingles building, there will be four other buildings at West Fayetteville Village: two 4,950 sq. ft. buildings flanking the sides of the Ingles and two free standing buildings, one 14,400 sq. ft. and another 7,800 sq. ft. The plan approved by the Fayetteville Planning and Zoning Commission Tuesday night also includes three outparcels along Hwy. 54. One of the entrances to the center will be at Brandywine Boulevard, which must be extended to Hwy. 54 where it will align across from Oak Street. The other entrance to the shopping center will be directly off Hwy. 54 with a right-in, right-out only entrance. The shopping center will have an eight-foot sidewalk along the highway and a separate pathway leading to Fayette Urgent Care. The plan was recommended for approval by city staff since the landscaping plan and lighting plan have been submitted to the city, said planning and zoning director Jahnee Prince. Developer Steve Watson said he appreciated the commission's comments during a previous work session meeting that led to changes in the final plan.
