County looks at annexation requests

Three annexation requests highlight tomorrow's meeting of the Fayette County Commission.

The County Commission will consider two requests from the city of Fayetteville for annexations on New Hope Road. The first is for Elizabeth Landrum .84 acre tract zoned R-40 The applicant is seeking R-30.

The second Fayetteville application is from Jan Trammell for 1.01 acres currently zoned R-40. The applicant is also seeking R-30 zoning.

The final annexation request is from the Town of Tyrone by John Wieland Homes and Neighborhoods, Inc. for 11.202 acres currently zoned A-R, minimum five acre lots. Tyrone is seeking A-R minimum three-acre lots zoning located in off Kirkley Road.

In other items, the commission will consider one rezoning request. Dorothy Smith and Hall Cook of V.B. Smith Distributors, Inc., John W. Bonner of CBW Investments, LLC, Gordon MacFarlane, Charles Griffin, James Jackson on behalf of the estate of Annette Jackson, Owners, and Josh Bonner of Southeast Properties, Inc. want to rezone 9.86 acres on Ga. Highway 54 and Tyrone Road from A-R and C-C to C-H to develop commercial uses ranging from retail to office.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the Fayette County Administrative Complex.
