Legendary jazz bassist to headline summer's first free outdoor concert at Wolf Creek

South Fulton residents can kick off their shoes and enjoy a soothing evening of jazz under the stars tomorrow at 7 p.m., rain or shine.

Detroit-based all-female jazz group Straight Ahead and acclaimed New York-based vocal soloist Lucas will open the performance. Grammy-winning bassist Stanley Clarke will headline.

Concertgoers should bring blankets and lawn chairs. Refreshments will be sold on site. Parking is limited, and carpooling is strongly encouraged.

Fulton County Commission Vice Chairman William "Bill" Edwards will serve as host for the evening.

FultonCountyis the title sponsor in the 2003 Wolf Creek MusicFest, a continuation of concerts held at Wolf Creek Parkfor the past three years. This year's Festival will include a total of four free outdoor concerts at the venue. The park is located at 3025 Merk Road, offCamp Creek ParkwayinSouth Fulton.

The concert is part of a national summer tour by Stanley Clarke, a bass virtuoso who made his first recordings 1970s.

He is currently working on his sixteenth solo album.

Approximately 2,000 residents attended the most recent concert held at Wolf Creek last summer.
