Johnnie Britt Adams Sr.


Johnnie Britt Adams Sr., 83, a native of Thomaston and long-time resident of Atlanta, died July 4, 2003. He was born Oct. 29, 1919 in Upson County, Ga. He was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, Thomaston, and was in the United States Army in World War II. He was plant manager for Pioneer Boneless Beef Company and was a retired food inspector for the Atlanta City School System. He served as a lay leader at the Sylvan Hills Baptist Church, Atlanta, for many years. Services were at the Parrott Funeral home chapel with the Rev. David Dickerson and the Rev. Sam Storey officiating. Interment was at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Pat Gunter Adams; a son, John B. and Beth Adams Jr., Pine Mountain; a daughter, Jennifer and David Bertolini, Fairburn, grandchildren, John B. Adams and Swann Adams III, Irmo, S. C., Ashley Adams, Birmingham, Ala., Dalene and Curt Bearden, and Tony and Michelle Bertolini, Elijay; great-grandchildren, Noah, Hollie, Matthew, and Hannah Bearden, and Tyler and Avery Bertolini, all of Elijay; and sisters, Elizabeth Storey, Thomaston and Ruth Harkness, Fayetteville. Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, was in charge.

Emma Juanita Johnson Jones


Emma Juanita Johnson Jones, 86, College Park, died July 5, 2003. She was born Jan. 8, 1917 in Thomas County, Ga. Services were at the Parrott Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Mark Riley officiating. Interment was at Mt. Olive Baptist Church cemetery, Molena, Pike County, Ga. Survivors include her husband, Robert Frederick “Fred” Jones Sr., College Park; a son, Robert Frederick “Freddy” and Sharon Jones Jr., Tyrone; sisters, Marilyn and Raymond Heap, Metairie, La., and Hazel and Ralph Herndon, Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren, Aaron Jones, Katie Jones, Patrick Jones, and Matthew Jones; a nephew, Sam and Sharon Kyker, Maryville, Tenn.; and a niece, Jane Kyker Stevenson, West Palm Beach, Fla. Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, was in charge.

Charlotte Hamrick Scott


Charlotte Hamrick Scott, 97, Fayetteville, died July 6, 2003. She was born July 25, 1905 in Weston, W. Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, Levi B. Scott. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. John Westland and the Rev. Garrett Arnold-Hoffman officiating. Interment was at Athens Cemetery, Athens, W. Va. Survivors include a daughter, Marjorie Handley, Fayetteville; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.

Robert Lee Camp Jr.


Robert Lee Camp Jr., 64, Brooks, died July 7, 2003. He was born June 4, 1939 in Jonesboro, Ga. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Wendell Jones officiating. Interment was at Brooks Memorial Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Jean Camp, Brooks; step-sons, Joel Wayne Sims, and James Sims, Jr., both of Griffin; a step-daughter, Kim Bratz, Forest Park; mother, Jewell Camp, Jonesboro; a brother, Doug Camp, McDonough; sisters, JoAnne Reeves, McDonough, Linda Regan, Stockbridge, and Betty McClamrock, Kannapolis, N. C.; a sister-in-law, Fran Rhoads, Lanette, Ala.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.

Connie Beatrice Hanson


Connie Beatrice Hanson, 83, Lithonia, died July 8, 2003. She was born Oct. 1, 1919 in Fulton County. Services were at the Parkway Garden Chapel with the Rev. Dr. George Worrell officiating. Interment was at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Stockbridge. Survivors include sons, James and Linda Hanson, Fayetteville, and Donnie G. Hanson, Stockbridge; a daughter, Connie Marguerite and John D. Callahan, Tyrone; grandchildren, Mike Hanson, Ronnie Hanson, and Chris Hanson, Debbie Callahan, and Jeff Callahan; great-grandchildren, Marcus Hanson, Savannah Hanson, and Cassidie Hanson. Thomas L. Scroggs Parkway Gardens, Forest Park, was in charge.
