Interstate work continues next week DOT officials have announced that lane closures will be in place on Interstate 85 while standard maintenance repairs are performed on the bridge on Ga. Highway 16 over the interstate in Coweta County during the next two weeks. The contractor performing this work is H. C. Enterprises, Inc., and said they will be working July 13-17 from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. The northbound right lane will be closed for bridge beam repair. Some damage to the bridge had been discovered through routine inspection, but there was no significant structural damage which required immediate repair.Funds are now available for routine maintenance on this bridge and the project has been awarded. Motorists are urged to drive with care while driving through these, or any other work zones.They should be alert for traffic slow downs and lane shifts, using alternate routes whenever possible.
