Senoia Councilman says he's here to stay By JOHN THOMPSON Senoia City Councilman Pat Tunnell put to rest Monday any notions that he might have to leave the council for personal reasons. At the end of Monday night's meeting, Tunnell addressed the small gathering. "I just want to assure you that I am living in Senoia and that I plan on keeping this my residence," he said. Because of Tunnell's impending divorce, rumors had been swirling in the east Coweta town that he had moved out of the city limits and might have to vacate his City Council seat. After Tunnell gave his brief address, the meeting was adjourned, but the drama continued. Mayor Dianne Cleveland slid a pad toward Tunnell and asked him to write down his phone number in case city officials had to contact him about city business. Tunnell ignored Cleveland before finally snapping, "You have the number. It's the Etzel's," he said. During his divorce proceeding, Tunnell has moved in with friends in the Willow Dell subdivision. In other news from Monday's meeting, Cleveland welcomed two new members to the Planning Commission. Rebecca Neill and Jim Preece took the places of Norman Hart and Rick Jeffries. Hart resigned from the commission, while Jeffries term expired June 30.
