CCSU offers college for kids

Want to learn everything from aerospace to algebra? Have an interest in cartooning or computers?

If you're between the ages of 7 and 12, then Clayton State's "Youth University," a two-week long academic camp organized through the University's Continuing Education division, is for you.

Kids (with their parents' help) can choose from a list of offered courses including government, writing, Spanish, and math to keep their academic skills active over those veg-out summer months. Or, if fun is what your child wants, choose from a variety of creative courses such as ceramics, dance, photography, tennis, and karate.

Youth University is designed to allow your child to experience learning and skills development without the stress of tests or homework. In addition, the interactive learning environment enhances the student's academic, cultural, and physical skills development.

Youth University runs the month of July, and there are a pair of two-week sessions available. Session one runs July 7-18; session two runs July 21-Aug. 1. Sessions are staffed from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to assist working parents. The cost for attending Youth University is $279.

To register, or for more information on Youth University, go online to http://conted.clayton.edu, or register by phone by calling 770-961-3550. Children in attendance will be supervised at all times.
