Faked theft nets arrest of Hapeville man A Hapeville man has been arrested for making a false crime report to the Fayette County Sheriff's Department. Jason Earle Smith, 45, told a deputy June 18 that $1,500 of his was stolen from a residence on Westbridge Road in north Fayette County, according to reports. A warrant filed by Det. Ethan Harper of the Fayette County Sheriff's Department indicates that Smith filed the report fraudulently "in an attempt to put off his creditors." John Munford   What do you think of this story?
