Liver seminar tomorrow night The Georgia chapter of the American Liver Foundation has scheduled a "Liver Update for the African American Community" for tomorrow at 6 p.m. in Crawford Long Hospital's Glenn Auditorium. Organizers are especially encouraging members of the black community to attend, noting that blacks have the highest prevalence of hepatitis C infection, according to the Centers for Disease Control, while black teens and young adults are infected with hepatitis B about 3-4 times more often than Caucasians. Billed as "an educational seminar for liver disease patients, family members, friends and general community," the program included a number of doctors discussing hepatitis C and digestive diseases. Registration is free and a light meal will be provided. Space is limited, so call 404-633-9169 to reserve a seat. For more information, visit www.liverfoundation.org/georgia.
