Edna Elizabeth Fisher
Memorial services for Edna Elizabeth Fisher, Fayetteville, who died May 29, 2003, will be Saturday, June 21, 2003. It will be in the Tara Room of Aberdeen Woods Conference, beginning at 1 p.m. The formal service will begin at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ed Hoard officiating. The family requests any donations be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society or the March of Dimes. Jones Funeral Home, Newnan, is in charge.
Thomas Augusta Chapman
Thomas Augusta Chapman, 88, Fayetteville, died May 12, 1915 in Florida. He was born May 12, 1915 in Atlanta. He served in the United States Navy in World War II, serving on board the USS Antaeus, and the USS PC 1184. He had a 40 year career in the carpet industry beginning at Sears and Roebuck on Ponce de Leon Avenue, owning Chapman's Floor Coverings in West End and working at Barwick Industries. They moved to College Park in 1955, was a member of the College Park United Methodist Church, and from 1981 to 1996, he worked on the College Park Planning Commission. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Edna Shugart Chapman, Fayetteville; daughters, Carol Monroe, Canton, and Connie and David Lipham, Fayetteville; a sister, Ruth and Cecil Hagood, Snellville; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Haigh-Black Funeral Home, Ormond Beach, Florida, was in charge.
Audrey Farnell Beaty
Audrey Farnell Beaty, 81, Fayetteville, died June 10, 2003. She was born May 30, 1922 in Fulton County. She was preceded in death by a son, James Allen DeShayes, and a grandson, Brandon Blair Doty. She was a 1939 graduate of Girls High School, Atlanta, and was a member of the nurse Cadet Corps during World War II. She worked as an OR nurse at Grady Hospital for many years. Services were at LaMont United Methodist Church, LaMont, Fla. Interment was at Walker Cemetery. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge of local arrangements.
Emmie Mae Belton
Emmie Mae Belton, 75, Peachtree City, died June 12, 2003. She was born June 27, 1927 in Macon, Bibb County, Ga. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Belton. Graveside services were at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include a son, Ernest and Willie Macon, Peachtree City; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Phillip Mitchell, Los Angeles, Calif. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge.
