Vacant property on N. Jeff Davis Drive rezoned

The Fayetteville City Council has approved a commercial rezoning for property north of the Flash Foods convenience store on North Jeff Davis Drive.

The property's zoning was changed to C-1, which is in keeping with the "mixed use" concept the area has been earmarked for with the city's future land use map, said director of planning and zoning Jahnee Prince.

Mayor Ken Steele said the zoning "is a downzone." The property is currently undeveloped.

"The city intends to protect the integrity of Jeff Davis Drive," Steele said, noting that the area is home to many offices.

The property had previously been zoned commercial, and the current property owners agreed to the rezoning, which was initiated by city staff to get the property in compliance with the future land use map, Prince said.
