Vandalism of PTC path signs reported

A member of the Peachtree City Rotary Club is upset about recent vandalism of the club's directional signs on the city's cart path system.

The signs have been spray-painted and pulled up out of the ground, said Rotarian Steve Lowther. In one case, a youth who stole a golf cart ran over one of the signs intentionally, Lowther added.

The club installed the signs last summer as part of a civic program to help keep users of the cart paths from getting lost, which can be easy to do due to their winding nature. The project was designed to be "helpful to everyone" Lowther noted.

"We have spent a lot of time and effort, not to mention money, to put these signs out," Lowther said. "Apparently some kids have too much time on their hands and not enough parental supervision."
